Lucy & La Mer is an American Folk Pop band hailing from Los Angeles, CA. Singer/Songwriter Lucy LaForge leads an acoustic collaboration of musicians on her baritone ukulele.
Their debut single "Just Friends" raised enough support from fans in 2013 to fully fund the band's first music video via a Kickstarter Campaign, and has since appeared in various film festivals. In 2014, the band was voted to be part of the Echo Park Rising Music Festival and also performed for Los Angeles' Mayor Garcetti at the Sierra Club's 50th Anniversary.
Lucy also performed as a back-up singer for EDM legend Moby in two of his live shows, and embarked on her own solo West Coast Tour in Fall 2014, followed by a SXSW Tour in March 2015, to promote their debut EP Little Spoon, released April 6th, 2015.
Two of the new tracks have already placed as semi-finalists for the International Songwriting Competition in 2014 and 2015. Described as "a cutesy yet sardonic and eccentric blend of a Folk, Alternative, and Pop sound” the tunes were written by LaForge during a rough patch post-college, when she took to living out of boat and learned how to play ukulele in between grad school applications.
